Its been a long time

Wow its almost been a year since I did anything with the blog. I am constantly updating our site and it is hard to find time to update blogs. Kids are growing and loving life. Here is a quick run down of everyone in a year.

Owen - has been teaching 5th grade this year. It is a lot of work. He is trying get some History classes done so next year he will possibly be able to go back to teaching History. He loves history. He is teaching in Elders Quorum and loves reading. He wishes he had more time to do reading. Dogs are doing great. We have three additions to our Kennel this year. A big white male named Alii, puppy from Washington named Star, and a full adult named Alita. The dogs take a lot of time. But they are fun and are a big part of our kids life.

Jenell - I have been home with kids, which is a blessing. There are not a lot of teachers out in the world where the spouse doesn't have to work. I love staying home and love being with my kids. we are ready for spring we are starting to get a little cabin fever. I can't wait to work in the yard. I was put as the Stake YW President last July. I have loved it. I work a lot with the Youth Council which is my favorite part of the calling. It is fun to see other people other than your own ward. I have learned a ton and am still learning a ton. I enjoy playing women's volleyball and running. I am training for a 1/2 marathon.

Jed - is in 1st grade. He is learning to read. He reads very well and loves to read his scriptures. He loves to wrestle with his dad on our wrestling mat. He is an outside boy. he is outside any chance he gets. He is so good with his little sister Abigail. She adores Jed. It is always fun to see him come home and Abigail runs to give him kisses.

Mary - is in Kindergarten. She is as smart as a whip. She loves crafty anything. Loves to color and loves to collect anything. She trys to sneak stuff into her room. She knows I will make her throw stuff away if I see it. The other day I took her to the dentist. She was so excited to go but once they gave her the shot she was not very excited. I went and got her a shake after and she tried to save the shake cup in her closet. This last year we painted her room. It turned out so cute. Stoyan helped. He painted the castle window for us. It turned our awesome.

Luke - Luke is grandpas little helper. He loves to go out and feed cows and gather eggs. He goes down stairs every morning. He is such a joy. He goes to speech on Fridays. He loves going to school and loves his teacher. He all ways has to take a treat to his teacher. He has been singing I love to see the temple. He does it really loud. It gets into grandpas head.

Abigail - Is so much fun. she is always on the go and wants to give kisses to everyone. She loves her grandma's. She loves to draw. She draws on everything. scriptures, books, floors, especially walls. She is going to be an artistic little thing. She seems to get sick a lot more than my other kids did. It makes long nights.

Trip to Arizona

I forgot to take my camera on our trip down to Arizona. We went for a week end and visited Jake, Deana and their family and Bill, Mindy and their family. We had a great time. We love to see family and cousins. We took Bell our old mama dog down. We got her spade at Jake's clinic then we took her to Bills family. We gave her to Bill and the family. Bell is in dog heaven there. Bill has a pool and Bell absolutely loves it. She is walking everyday with the family and is being loved like crazy. Here are some pictures that Bill sent.

Daniel my brother is on his mission to Brazil. Here is a family that he taught the gospel to.These are pictures of them at their baptism. They look so happy. I am so glad the gospel of Jesus Christ can bring such light and happiness into families. I am so proud of Daniel. He such a good example to my kids. Last Sunday Luke gave the prayer in Primary. He is now three and is starting to say his prayers on his own. He got up there and I didn't help him at all. He blessed uncle Daniel on his mission about three times. He then blessed his cousin Colton on his mission about three times. It was really cute.

Mary and I had fun doing crazy hair day. we put pencils in her pigtails. she was laughing so hard. she had to turn sideways to get into the car. What a fun girl.

Conference at the DeGraffenried Home

We had lots of family at the DeGraffenried home. It was fun. I put together a book for Colton. I took pictures and had everyone write a letter next to their picture. We had Charles family, Dans family, Emmy Family, Diana's family, and Grandma and Grandpa and our family. We really enjoyed the talks and the company.

Pammy was Stunning

We just got home from seeing Pammy's performance with LD Singers. They were really good. But Pammy is stunning. She was so beautiful. Your eye just naturally went to her. She is beautiful inside as well as out. It was fun to see her and watch her personality shine.

We will never sit of the front row again.out of the five of us three of us had to get up and be part of the show.

I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. Before the show two of the LD Singers(not Pam) came up and asked if Hailey and I would walk across the stage for one of their songs. We had no way out because she asked right as they were starting the program. well about half way through here came a girl to get us, but no, of all people they went to Ed and grabbed him to go up on stage. I was laughing even before he got up on stage. I looked over at Pam/Grandma and she was just sitting there shaking with tears rolling down her cheek and then I turned and on the other side Owen was laughing he couldn't even look up at Ed/Dad. Hailey and I was laughing so hard we had tears rolling down our faces. then the LD singers and Ed started singing "WE ARE the Champions" and Ed was up there waving his hands back and forth above his head. I couldn't look after that. I was crying I was laughing so hard. It took the whole next song to get us to stop laughing. I couldn't look at Ed. He handled it so So good. He must love Pammy a ton to get up there. It was great.

Then yes they came and got Hailey and I to walk across the stage. We were suppose to be flirting. we waved hi and walked very fast across the stage.

Owen kept on leaning over and saying "I can't believe Pammy is related to me." She is so good on stage. We were very impressed.

Well Abigail is crying and Owen started a Doris Day movie without me. (that's a first)

DeGraffenried Reunion

On the Bellow blog the DeGraffenried Reunion at Palisades's, that is not set in stone yet. Charles and Lori are in charge. That is just the date if we go to Palisades's. That is the only weekend available to go there.

Yep. I am going to start running again. I haven't ran for about a year. I just plugged in my information into runners world and I have a schedule to train for the Bryce Canyon run. It is on July 18th.

Abigail - My little pot of Gold

It was Abigail's birthday today. She is truly our little pot of gold. She played outside for most of the afternoon with Jed, Mary and Luke. They put her in our baby swimming pool under the trampoline. (no water of course) It is getting warmer which has been so nice to let the kids out of the house. Grandma gave her a huge sucker for her birthday. She thoroughly enjoyed it.

Mary helped me make a cake for Abigail. She cracked her first egg today. She totally demolished the shell it was a miracle she didn't get any shells in the cake batter. She is so fun to teach. She loves to cook and she is loving her piano lessons. she is already reading music really well. I am very proud of her. She is so good with Abigail. They already are great play mates.

I can't beleive Abigail is already 1 years old. I didn't think she would be old enough to realize she was having a party for her. But She DID. We went to take the cake away from her and she had a fit. She knew it was for her. Owen gave her a slice and she didn't even eat any. It was a fun day for Abigail.

Jed is such a good big brother. He really helps with Abigail. He watched her most of the day while I tried to get the house clean.

Today Owen shingled the roof to the dog runs and I had fun playing volleyball in a womens leage that is going on right now. I enjoy it. my team won both games tonight. It is allway fun when you are winning. Now I need to get back to putting new pictures of puppies on our website.

Our little Cowboys

We went to Arizona and stayed at Jake and Deana's. We had a great time. Deana and I had fun shopping while Owen sold puppies and watched kids. It has become a tradition to go garage selling and then get Crispy Cremes for breakfast. Deana and Jake show us such a good time. Owen and Jake where trying out Jake's new saddle by roping the dogs in the back yard while sitting on the saddle. We went and played at the park. Owen enjoys going to the clinic and helping Jake.

On our way home from Arizona we stopped at Lee's Ferry. It was a really neat place. We walked the trail between the two Ferry's. There are still remains of the Cabins that were made out of rock. I can't believe they were able to live in such conditions. There was one tree there and it was about dead. The kids loved the little trail and the river. We let out our dogs and they where jumping into the river. I thought Owen was going to have to go in after one of them. It is amazing how big the river is.

It was so warm in Arizona. I wish I was there right now. We got dumped with snow yesterday. We like the snow for sledding, Jed is out sledding right now. We are getting spring fever. I just planted a bunch of seeds seeing if I can start some plants indoors.

I went to Hurricane this last Saturday and had a volleyball tournament. I think it was the most fun I have ever had playing volleyball. I had a really fun group of women to play with. We started playing at 8:00 in the morning and didn't stop until about 6:00 at night. We won the whole tournament. I don't think we ever let the ball hit the floor without someone sprawled on the floor going for it. We had a ton of fun.

Sunday I had sharing time. It was on Mothers are the nurtures of our family. I had three moms come in. they were hidden behind the chalk board. and the kids had to guess who they were. They used their deep voices. After the kids guessed who it was the moms then bore their testimony on being a mother. It was a really cute sharing time.

For the last couple of days I have been so sick. I haven't had fever and chills like this for a long time. I was fevering so high that in the middle of the night I was panicked to go get my dream printed off. I was dreaming of some mechanical box and I had to print off its details before I forgot it. I even got up and came into the computer to print it off. I stood hear looking at the computer thinking "I can't print that off." I took another 800 mg of Ibuprofen and curled up on the couch trying to not think of the pounding headache and and sweats and chills and the dumb mechanical black box. It was horrible. a day later I was able to think a little and went down stairs and asked Diana what I had. by then it was into my neck and glands. she was pretty sure I had strep. The next day the doctor at the Kanosh clinic confirmed Diana's diagnoses. I feel so much better and so far no one has picked up the strep. (knock on wood) While I was in bed Jed and Mary where so good taking care of the younger two kids. They even brought me breakfast in bed. Cold Pancakes from the day before. They are so thoughtful. They have very obeying and good spirits. I love them so much. They are such a blessing to Owen and Me. I love them so much and the everyday things they do are so fun and funny sometimes. Life is Good!!

Abigail and Adilaide

Abigail and Adelaide are just months apart in age. They are both bald with blue eyes. I think they are going to be great friends. Right now Adelaide is terrified when Abigail starts toward her. She has been mauled a couple of times. If they are both secured in bouncers or high chairs then they smile and have fun with each other. Marhin had surgery on her feet and knees so they have been at grandmas for a while. Laura and Mary love playing together. They are really good playmates.

For Christmas I made the family matching P.J. pants. Christmas Eve pictures. Mary and I got matching necklaces on our girls date. we went to richfield. I had a certificate I had to use before the end of the year. It was fun. We got matching snowflake necklaces. Mary already has lost hers and is now wanting to barrow my necklace.

The Christmas Story

Evey year we reenact the Christmas story. Mary is all ways Mary and Jed is Joseph. This year daddy is the Donkey. He makes such a good ..........Donkey. We used the couch cushions for the stable. Abigail took out baby and Jesus and Mary by destroying the stable. It was quit exciting.

Christmas eve program turned out great. It was fun to see the kids all dressed up and the decorations where a success. Kids where excited to see Santa. It was great.

Dog Ornaments

Our tree is a kid friendly tree. It is an everything tree the kids love playing with the little dog ornaments. They play like they slide down the lights and garland. It has been many hours of entertainment for the Jed, mary and Luke.

Kids just got home from school. They were both so cute wearing thier reindeer antlers. They love school and love to learn. Mary is my fun. She and I made brownies. She got all her dolls and her dishes so we could have a tea party together. It was fun. It was just mom and mary. It was fun.

Kanosh Chritmas Eve Program

Owen is taking the Young Men and Young Women on a hay ride Christmas caroling. They are riding behind Eds big team of Percheron's. Kids are in bed and Abigail is easting everything off the floor she can find. We should have named her Hoover.

Yesterday I was put in charge of the Kanoshs Christmas Eve program. Yes a week from today. I have been scrambling to get things put together. I think I am pretty close to having it all figured out. Hope all goes well. Wish me luck and pray for the program to go off smoothly.

Busy time of year

Well today I woke up and decided I better make a list of everything that needs to be done today. I got to the tenth thing and remembered I had Visiting Teaching in ten minutes. So I hurried and made Bread in a bag ( I just put all the ingredients in a zip lock bag except for the water, oil, and yeast. Then write on the bag how to finish making the bread). Hopefully they can make the bread and have the smell of fresh bread and the yummy bread to eat. It is Uncle Arden Ashtons recipe that he perfected. It is really good. There is nothing better than fresh cooked bread.

I haven't done anything on my list.

Mary had piano lessons again and she is loving it. She is so excited to show off her songs she is learning. It is fun for her to be so excited. She has a really good memory. Sister Hatton played the song through twice and mary did the whole song just by listening and watching sister hatton a couple of times. I am really proud of her.

Kids are out playing in the snow. It is the first time they have been able to go sledding since the snow storm. They have been out for hours. They asked yesterday when it was getting dark if they could go sledding. By that point I had already told them three or four times they could not go sledding on Sunday.

Tree Finally Fixed

Since our tree fell over the lights have not worked right. So I had to go take everything off the tree and untangel all the lights and put everything back just got done with that. It took me all day to do.

Dads Truck and Tailer Totaled

Dad was coming home from the auction in Salina, when he hit some ice and started to slide. The trailer jack knifed and came around and tipped his truck and trailer into the median and tipped over. The roof of dads truck is totally smashed in. It looks like his head should have been where it is smashed in. Dad of course says he feels fine and is out working on chores and house. He was hanging upside down when help got there and they told him to not move. He said he wasn't going to hang around all day. And was finally able to get his seat belt off and crawl out the smashed window. He looks great and says he is fine.

Dad's Truck Totaled

I was in a primary meeting when I got a call from Bob saying that Dad got in an accident. It is not a good feeling to hear someone you love has been in an accident. Dad is ok but a little sore. I bet he will be feeling sore tomorrow. Mom went and picked him up. Dad came home and went out to do chores.

I was put as first counselor in the primary a couple of weeks ago. I am suppose to be in charge of the Christmas party but they planned and did that for me. Liz Langston is the Primary President and Michelle George is second counselor.
